GBF participated in the conference "India's Pathway to Sustainable Development"; Advisor Dr. Chaitali Pal presented a research paper on DALYs in South Asia.
Green Being Foundation was pleased to participate in the International Conference on "India's Pathway to Sustainable Development," held on 19–20 April 2025 at Annexure Hall, organized by the Department of Economics, Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada, Odisha.
A key highlight of the conference was the academic contribution of Dr. Chaitali Pal, Advisor to Green Being Foundation, who presented a research paper titled "An Economic Estimation of Adversity of Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) in Selected South Asian Countries." The research was presented in Empirical Essays in Development Economics Focusing on Indian Economy, addressing key economic and development challenges.
Dr. Pal's research highlights the importance of examining the economic consequences associated with disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), a measure that captures the burden of disease, disability, and premature mortality. This research deepens understanding of the relationship between public health, economic well-being, and sustainable development, particularly across South Asian countries.
For Green Being Foundation, participation in this conference provided an important opportunity to engage with academic research, exchange ideas with experts, and contribute to discussions on inclusive and sustainable development. We believe that evidence-based research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and informed policymaking are essential to addressing complex social, economic, and environmental challenges.
We congratulate Dr. Chaitali Pal on her valuable academic contribution and reaffirm our commitment to promoting research, awareness, and collaborative initiatives that support a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future.
Green Being Foundation remains committed to advancing sustainable development through knowledge-sharing, research, and meaningful engagement with academic and development institutions.
