Sustainability & Waste Management Initiative at Eden Gardens (IPL 2025)

GBF volunteers promoted waste segregation and responsible disposal among thousands of spectators at Eden Gardens during IPL matches.

Green Being Foundation proudly participated in a sustainability and waste management initiative at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata, during cricket matches, demonstrating its commitment to environmental protection and responsible waste management at large public gatherings.

The initiative aimed to promote responsible waste disposal, effective waste segregation, and greater environmental awareness among the thousands of spectators visiting the stadium. Through active on-ground engagement, a dedicated team of Green Being Foundation volunteers encouraged visitors to dispose of waste responsibly, distinguish between recyclable and non-recyclable materials, and contribute to maintaining a cleaner and more organized stadium environment throughout the matches.

Large-scale sporting events often generate substantial quantities of waste, making effective waste management essential for protecting the environment and maintaining public hygiene. Initiatives such as this highlight the importance of collective responsibility, community participation, and sustainable practices in managing waste in crowded public spaces.

By engaging directly with spectators and stadium staff, the volunteers helped spread awareness about the importance of waste segregation and environmentally conscious behaviour. Their efforts reinforced the message that sustainability is a shared responsibility and that even small individual actions can make a meaningful difference when adopted collectively.

Green Being Foundation's participation at Eden Gardens reflects its continued dedication to environmental conservation, public awareness, and sustainable community engagement. Through such initiatives, the Foundation strives to inspire responsible citizenship, encourage eco-friendly practices, and contribute towards building cleaner, greener, and more sustainable public spaces.
